🔰 PASSPORT: Guidelines for Government Employees

As per Indian Passport Amendment Rules 2016 (G.S.R No.1171[E] dt: 23-12-2016), government employees applying for a passport must submit one of the following annexures at the time of application submission for verification:

  1. Annexure-A (Identity Certificate)
👉 Passport can be issued without Police Verification
  2. Annexure-G (No Objection Certificate)
👉 Passport issued on Post Police Verification basis
  3. Annexure-H (Prior Intimation Letter)
👉 Passport issued after Pre Police Verification

📋 Detailed Guidelines:

  • 📌 Annexure-A is issued by the Head of Department/ Appointing Authority
➤ Requires Police Verification & Vigilance Clearance through the department.
  • 📌 Annexure-G can be issued by the Appointing Authority / Head of Office / Controlling Officer.
  • 📌 Annexure-H is a self-declaration to be submitted to the Employer.
➤ Fill two copies and submit to office head for signature & seal. One copy is retained by office, one returned to employee.

⚠️ Important Note:

Employees under suspension or those with pending criminal charge sheets may not be issued Vigilance Clearance. So, NOC (Annexure-G) must only be issued after verification of such cases.
